Present Continuous Tense

الكلمات الداله او ( الظروف ) -: ( Key Words Or ( Adverbs

الأن : Now     فى هذه اللحظه : at this moment     انظر : look
   استمع :  listen     كن حذرا : be careful

كن هادئا :  be quiet     احترس : watch out    اسرع :  hurry up
     انتبه :  take notice     ما زال : still

اصمت : keep silent      احزر : look out     هذه الايام : nowadays
 اخرس : shut up      اليوم : today

    انتبه : pay attention       فى هذه الدقيقه : at this minute
  فى الزمن الحاضر : at the present time

احترس : beware      فى هذه ( الايام- الاسابيع ) : ( in this ( days - weeks

هذا / هذه  ( المساء -اليوم -الاسبوع  ) : ( this ( Evening - day - week

Rule : -

Verb  +  ing	+    is	He   -  She   -  It   -  Ali
Verb   +  ing	+    am	I
Verb   +  ing	+   are	We  -  You  - They  - boys

     When do we use the present continuous tense ? 

 متى نستعمل الفعل المضارع المستمر ؟ 

1\ for things that are happening now :- 

للاشياء التى تحدث الان :-

 1\ You are drinking  ( drink ) tea now .

2\ the Cat is sleeping  ( sleep ) in the basket at this moment .   

3\  look , He is dancing  ( dance ) .

4\ Listen , She is talking  ( talk ) too fast

5\ excuse me , I am looking  ( look ) for the bank .         

6\ be careful , the car is moving  ( move ) back.

7\ He is swimming  ( swim ) at the moment .

2\ for temporary events or situations :-

للأحداث والاجراءت المؤقته :-

1\ She is crying  ( cry ) .

2\ I am making  ( make ) a sandwich .

3\  the dog  is chasing  ( chase ) a cat in the garden .

4\ Ali is working (work) from the London office for six months.  

5\ Fatima and Mona are living (live) abroad for the summer. 

6\ Amer is saving  (save) money to buy anew House .

3\ progressive changes :- 

للتعبير عن التغيرات التدريجيه :- 

1\ The children are growing  ( grow ) quickly .

2\ the price of gold is increasing  ( increase ). 

3\ the climate is changing ( change ) Rapidly .

4\ your English is improving ( improve ).

5\ I need to go in diet , I am getting ( get ) fatter .

4\ future plans and arrangement :-

للخطط والترتيبات المستقبليه :- 

1\ I am studying  ( study ) to be a doctor .

2\ we are getting  ( get ) Married next week .  

3\ He is going ( go ) to Ali's party tonight .

4\ we  are spending ( spend ) honeymoon in Cairo .

5\ they are moving ( move ) this weekend from Amman.

6\ I am seeing  ( see ) Amer tomorrow .

7\ Fatima is going  ( go ) to anew school next term .

8\My Dad is retiring  ( retire ) in June .

9\ Tom is starting ( start )  anew job on Friday .

10\ she is running ( run ) in a big race on Monday.

11\ I am flying  ( fly ) to Dubai next month .

12\ I am visiting  ( visit ) my   friend after work .

5\ for physical feeling :-

  مع المشاعر الجسديه :-  

1\ My head is aching ( ache).

2\ My tooth is hurting  (hurt ).

3\ Tom is feeling  ( feel ) much better now .

6\ for Emphasis a continuing series of repeated actions :-  ( always – constantly ):- 

للتركيز على سلسله من الاحداث المتكرره :-

1\ he is always coming  ( come ) to class late .

2\ It is always raining  ( rain ) in New York .

3\ Anne is Always going  ( go ) on holiday .

4\ Peter is always talking  ( talk ) aloud .

5\ the children are  always playing  ( play ) on the street .

6\ Ali is  Always laughing  ( laugh ).

7\ He is Constantly changing  ( change ) his mind .

8\ Amer is  Constantly working  ( work ) hard . 

ملاحظه :- تامل الافعال الاتيه عند اضافة ing  لها :-

Win : winning  - run : running – cut : cutting – swim : swimming

Visit : visiting – open : opening – listen : listening – answer : answering
Move : moving – come : coming – make : making – dance : dancing
يكذب lie-lying	يربط tie-tying	يموت die-dying	يكذب lie – lying

Negative Form

Verb + ing +	Isn't+	He – She – It – Ali – Fatima
+ verb  + ing	+ am not	I
+ verb + ing	+ aren't	We – you – they – boys – girl

1\ I am not working ( not – work ) now .

2\ you aren't carrying ( not – carry ) rubbish at this moment 

3\ Ali isn't going  ( not – go ) to cinema this Evening .

4\ He isn't winning ( not – win ) the game today .

5\ you aren't looking  ( not- look ) for me now . 

6\ she isn't talking  ( not – talk ) on the phone at this moment .

7\  look, It isn't freezing  ( not – freeze ) .

8\ they aren't cutting  ( not – cut ) paper now . 

9\ the students aren't reading  ( not – read ) now .

Question form

6\ Is  She arriving  ( arrive ) by bus ? No she isn't .

7\  what are You doing  ( do ) tonight ? I am doing my homework .

8\ where is He running  ( run ) ? He is running at home .

9\ why  are  You dancing  ( dance ) ?  because I am happy .

10\ where are They playing  (play ) ? they are playing in school ground.

ملاحظه :- الاجابه القصيره دائما تكون كالاتى :-

ملاحظه :- لا يستخدم المضارع المستمر مع الافعال الخبريه stative verbs)    )  مثل :- 

Like – love – hate – Prefer – need – want – wish – dislike

Think – remember – forget – know – believe – imagine

See – hear – smell – taste – feel – seem – appear - miss

Have  - own – belong – possess – depend – cost - include
